TAQNIA Energy is investigating in building a Photovoltaic Module assembly line with a proposed capacity of 500 MW. The PV assembly line will help supply the owned and new announced solar projects in the kingdom and MENA region.
The modules are assembled to obtain the voltage and power level desired for a particular module capacity, and the final product “PV module” will then be ready for sale.
The assembly line will play a critical role in Saudi Arabia’s solar power expansion. As Saudi Arabia plans to have 9.5 GW of solar and wind installed capacity by 2030. This corresponds to 700 MW capacity addition every year for 15 years.
TAQNIA Energy will leverage the Water and Energy Research Institute at KACST to ensure the success of this project.
